The Netbook Backpack for Women
In the realm of laptop bags for women, backpacks may not be the most feminine and stylish choice. However, they can be really functional and comfortable, especially for students. If we talk about netbooks, the situation is basically the same. Finding a netbook backpack that would be suitable for college girls or women who work on the field can be rather difficult, especially if you’re looking for an attractive design.
Let’s face it: netbook are really small. Mine, for example, has a size of an average book. I’m not a student anymore and I don’t need a backpack for my everyday work routine, but I still made a thorough research on this topic. First of all, I asked myself one question: are there netbook backpacks that are small enough to fit a 10 inch netbook? How would such a backpack look? Would it be able to fit other gadgets, accessories, books and papers?
I found out the following: since backpacks are designed to protect your arms and shoulders by placing the entire weight of the bag on your back, there is no logical reason for manufacturing little light backpacks. That’s why I found only several small netbook backpacks suitable for female customers on the online market. Among them, I really liked this one – the Accessory Genie Dark Grey Silk-Screened Canvas Backpack for a 7-10″ Asus Netbook. This backpack is not only small, it’s also stylish in a ‘street-art’ manner. Its two exterior pockets can accommodate other small accessories – cell-phone, iPod, cables and chargers, maybe a wallet.
Another surprisingly stylish model is the REI Nikole Day Bag – Women’s – a canvas backpack with many interior pockects and a special compartment for netbook/e-book reader. It costs $59.50.
All other models of netbook backpacks for girls (and not only) are much bigger than the actual size of a netbook. After all, that’s what backpacks are made for – to allow you to carry lots of stuff without straining your arms. They all have a special padded compartment for a netbook/laptop and many other compartments and pockets where you can store your books, documents, gadgets, snacks and cosmetics.
A netbook backpack can also be used for travel. It will free your hands, allowing you to carry other pieces of luggage without worrying for the safety of your device. However, keep in mind that there are also special netbook travel bags that are designed for the requirements of airport security checks, being TSA approved.
As I wrote above, a backpack’s main problem is its relative lack of elegance. This can be a challenge for women who are used to combine practical and aesthetic features in their image. However, if you don’t get lazy and you dedicate a couple of hours to your online quest for a netbook backpack, you might get lucky and find a product that will be not only functional and secure for your netbook, but also stylish and cute.
